Is it possible that our absolute certainty is masking our potential to do great things?
Have you ever met people who are so certain of themselves, that they possess an unusually strong affect on the people surrounding them? This can lead to the betterment of everyone involved. It can also be used to keep other people down. It can be a challenge to clearly see the multitude of paths that life has laid out for us from this place of absolute certainty. Our first step is to understand and admit that the feeling we have when we believe we are right, is addictive. This wall of certainty grants us a strong measure of confidence when dealing with others and their varying points of view. We must be careful that the wall we’ve built doesn’t keep us from growing outward.
Be conscious to allow other people the room to be heard and respected. This will allow for subtle changes to your own sense of certainty to happen subtly over time. Be wary of changes in someone’s beliefs if they suddenly become unwavering or absolute.
